APPLICATION:
Patination oil should be applied to all newly installed leadwork on the day of installation. It is applied by wiping the leadwork with a lint-free cloth or rag. Apply evenly in a horizontal motion moving from top to bottom. Do not apply in a circular motion as patterns can become visible.

Expect typical coverage of approximately 40 m2 per litre of patination oil.
Lead to be treated must be clean and dry, and applied at a time where rain is not imminent.

STORAGE:

  • Store in cool dry conditions, at temperatures of between 5 and 30 degrees. Ensure good ventilation and keep away from sources of flame or ignition.

CAUTIONS:

  • Patination oil should not come in to contact with bituminous product or polycarbonate/plastic sheeting, as deterioration will occur.
  • Gloves should be worn whilst handing and applying patination oil.
  • Users should familiarise themselves with the Material Safety Data Sheet.
  • Used clothes, rags and gloves must be contained and thoughtfully disposed of after use. They must be considered highly flammable.
